When I painted this piece, I wanted to explore that balance dancers hold, bold yet vulnerable, strong yet fluid. The deep black background became the stage for her colours to glow even brighter, like life itself refusing to be dimmed. I imagine this work bringing a sense of drama and sophistication into any space it belongs.
