In Fading Grace, the dancer appears to float somewhere between movement and rest.
The painting draws inspiration from The Dying Swan, the iconic solo made famous by Anna Pavlova and performed to Saint-Saëns’ Le Cygne. It captures that delicate moment where the swan’s strength begins to fade, but the grace remains.
Together with Swan’s Lament, it forms a diptych reflecting the final movements of the swan’s story.
